We are excited to share the May 2024 edition of our SAMS monthly series, wherein we bring you a consolidated view of the monthly changes to all major global sanctions lists.
Approximately 522 people and organizations were added to the global major sanctions list in the month of May, 2024. Leading the plot, OFAC USA expanded its database by 332 names. The European Union sanctioned 37 people and 4 entities, while Global Affairs Canada sanctioned 35 people and 7 entities.
10 organizations and 25 people were added to the list by the United Kingdom HM Treasury, and 35 new names were sanctioned by SECO, Switzerland. 3 more people were sanctioned by the United Nations.
The Japanese Ministry of Finance sanctioned 13 names and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Australia imposed sanctions on 21 names.
All these names were updated in our proprietary database in real-time, ensuring our clients always stay globally and locally compliant.
